Subject: Re: What is the Labyrinth?

Okay, here's my thread. I tried to post this before, but it got lost somewhere... (Maybe Jareth doesn't want me to ask...?)
What is the Labyrinth? Is it real? Is it Sarah's imagination? Is it Jareth's will, or imagination? Is it in our Universe, or outside of us completely?
And... (evilgrin) how can I get there? :)
And and all thoughts would be appreciated.

Well, Jim Henson had said that it was meant to be only in Sarah's imagination. I say, NO WAY! I think it's a world outside / parallel / whatever to our/Sarah's own. Somehow she was able to cross over - magic, whether hers or Jareth's, I dunno. Maybe it was Sarah's belief in in the Labyrinth that made it real and thus, gave the Goblin King his power.
And, please, if you find yourself there, send me directions and a map!

Right. I have been told by various sources that it's Sarah's imagination, but that girl has about as much imagination as a tea cup (ok, I'm jealous, aren't I allowed to be?)
Well.. All right, that was a little bit hard on her, Sarah does have a very active imagination, it's just that I'm totally gutted... It's like, I know they couldn't have stolen my imagination because the first time I saw the darned film was when I was about seven... And yet! Lo! Behold! Between seven and fifteen there are what, eight years...Eight years for me to totally forget about the movie until now, and it seems as though they nicked my imagination and used me as a template for Sarah *grr* Escher on the wall.... Bedroom remarkably similar to hers, thing for David Bowie, acting, and pre Raphaelite dresses?
A CAT'S POSTER ON THE WALL for heavens sake!!!!!!
But do I get to go to a Labyrinth? NOoooooo.....
Anyway, I think the labyrinth was a real place that could be moulded by the imagination of others, Jareth a spirit who could bring your imagination to life on his plane, using your imagination to build his labyrinth... See? :)
And he took on an owl as his familiar.... Hence, when leavinig the Labyrinth, Jareth still exists. But he wasn't so mighty, so maybe he feeds of the thoughts of others... Oh, look, I'm babbling.

Ermmm... Get a baby brother, a couple of goblin puppets a few film sets and David Bowie, learn the lines....
Ok, must stop being sarcastic now....
Apolies necessary I feel.
